Animal Crossing New Horizons Day 1 – Welcome to LilacGrove

Island christening

The day is finally here. I’ve been waiting for it for so long, and it went by so quickly.

LilacGrove was established on March 20th, 2020 with fellow island goers Mac and Renée.

Today was rather eventful.. technically it has been two separate days, but with only one hour played on the 19th, I’m rolling it all into one. Last night I was up until 3 AM exploring my new island. I caught my very first tarantula! Something that took me quite some time to do in New Leaf. Still no scorpions spotted though…

I’d never actually touch one of these

I wanted to set up Blathers tent across the river, but seeing as I have no way to get over there I opted to place it near the island center. I’ve been storing tons of critters to fill the museum immediately.

I spent a good portion of the day playing the game with some friends. Even though everyone’s island is essentially barren at this point, it’s still fun to see what people are coming up with.

Playing instruments around the bonfire

It feels like things are already moving so quickly. I’ve completed the initial “payment” of 5000 NookMiles to cover my transportation and move in fees. I’ve expanded my pockets, and crafted some upgraded tools. I absolutely love the NookMiles+ system. It provides a good set of goals to work toward.

I absolutely love life on LilacGrove. I’m beyond excited to see how the island transforms in the future.
